Don't cry for me. I will be okay. Heaven is my home now, and this is where I'll stay. Don't cry for me. I'm where I belong. I want you to be happy and try to stay strong. Don't cry for me. It was just my time, but I will see you someday on the other side. Don't cry for me. I am not alone. The angels are with me to welcome me home.

ALBRECHT, MYRA "TIGE" passed away at home on May 6 with her husband David, friends, and cat Genji by her side. Born in San Francisco, she grew up in Big Sur State Park, and later Sea Cliff Beach State Park during WWII. She graduated from High School of Commerce in San Francisco. She met David in 1968 and they were married in Aug 1969; moving to San Jose in early 1970. They were blessed with a son Dana in 1971. She was a devoted and caring stay at home mother nurturing him in her love of Nature, books, all the Arts, and all things beautiful in this world.
Despite her petite size, Tige could be very tenacious and set in her beliefs and ways. However, for all that knew her well, she will be remembered as the kindest, most gentle, and pure of heart; especially to the multitude of doggies and kitties she never stopped adopting. She loved her expansive wild organic garden of roses, colorful flowers inhabited by the birds, bees, butterflies;- even critters and insects of all sorts were welcomed. She was a prolific photographer and her house collections of all kinds were accumulated from childhood and gathered from everywhere; especially Japan where she and Dave resided for 4 fantastic years. For more than 65 years, keeping her parent's small mountain Ranch in Shasta County for future generations to enjoy has been of great importance to her.
Dana and his wife, Katherine of New Hampshire, blessed Tige with four loving grandchildren; Peter, Caleb, Sophie, and Grace. She is also survived by her older sister, Karen Grosch of Placerville and younger sister Juli Postol of Woodbury, CT. Tige will be missed but never forgotten by her friends here and abroad, especially those in Japan; Dave's family; and her close cousins, Sharon, Tay, and Bootsie and their families.
As she wished, no Services were held. For those that wish to do so, please consider a gift to your favorite Charity; or especially the Animal Shelter or Humane Society of your area. A gathering of family and friends to celebrate Tige's life will be held in the near future. Our family wishes to again thank those that have provided help and loving care over the recent years.

BROWN, AMELIA LI (LI YU-CHING), age 59, died July 14, 2012, in San Jose, California, after a painful year-and-half long battle with cancer.
Amelia was born November 30, 1952 of Kwok Ping Li and Pui Ling Leung in Hong Kong. There she graduated the Diocesan Girls' School and briefly attended the New Method College before immigrating to the United States in 1971. After living briefly in Los Angeles she received her BA at Northeastern University in Boston, class of 1977, in three years while employed full time at Prudential. She earned her MBA with the class of 1980 at the University of Chicago, where she met her husband, Douglas Orcutt Brown, at new student orientation on her first day. Doug was initially charmed by her cheerful, approachable manner and soon amazed by her seemingly effortless mastery of anything related to Accounting. She and Doug married on June 30, 1979 at Westminster Presbyterian Church in Minneapolis.
After gaining experience as a tax auditor with Arthur Anderson Consulting in Chicago, Amelia joined Hewlett Packard’s Finance organization in Santa Clara, California, before co-founding a successful startup, BioMolecular Technologies, Inc., as CFO and VP of Operations. In their spare time, she and Doug enjoyed exploring the more exotic parts of all seven continents. Amelia was strongly devoted to friends and family, as illustrated by her decision to give up her successful professional career in order to care for her aging parents, or provide extensive assistance to non-English-speaking friends who needed help navigating bureaucratic procedures. Shortly after retiring, Amelia was inspired by the events of 9/11 to become proficient in firearms. With her typical drive for perfection, she received over 75 training certificates, and soon began instructing tactical pistol with Advanced Weapons and Technology, often surprising men two or three times her weight and strength with her capabilities.
Throughout much of her life Amelia believed the adage, “where there’s a will, there’s a way”. Her experience with cancer caused a reassessment, leading her to become a Christian. In her inimitable manner, she soon had read the entire Bible and Catholic Catechism, and was baptized outside the usual Easter cycle. Her example influenced several family and friends to become active in the Church

DIGIULIO, JOANN passed away Thursday, January 2, 2014, after losing a two year battle with uveal melanoma cancer. Joann was born in Ann Arbor MI and moved as a child to Stanford and San Jose, CA. Joann lived vigorously, determined to try and to enjoy everything in life; and she acquired many friends across the country.
After high school she graduated with a B.A. in Political Science from Willamette University. She graduated with a Master of Science in Policy Analysis at Penn State University, and a Master of Arts in American Indian Studies (Federal Indian Policy) at the University of Arizona.
In Sacramento, CA she worked as a paralegal for commercial real estate law firms, including conversion of military bases to commercial use. In 2005 she was awarded her law degree from McGeorge School of Law and passed the bar exams. For a brief time she worked in Governor Schwarzenegger’s Office of Legal Affairs, with the onerous job of interviewing state prisoners for parole decisions and for transfer to other facilities!
As real estate in California fell into the doldrums, JoAnn moved to Houston, Texas, where she passed the bar exams for Texas and established her consulting company. Even during treatments she studied and received her Texas real estate license. She worked for various law firms, most recently on line from her home, which was advantageous because of the cancer which was laying claim to her body.
She fought her cancer with the same intensity with which she worked, taking part in various clinical trials. But no matter how fatigued, she exercised her dogs. Only at the end did she consent to give them up.
Whatever situation or locale she was in she adopted the local culture: southwest and softball in Arizona, western in Texas. The lone star was part of her latest décor, along with the Texas flag.
She was always a hard worker, delving deep with the effort that it took to learn or to do a job well. Her attention to detail or to proper procedure wasn’t always easy on others; but the job was done properly!!
She is survived by her mother Sandra DiGiulio, mother’s partner Wasson Quan, sister Elizabeth DiGiulio, brother Tony DiGiulio, sister-in-law Fazila DiGiulio, nephew Danny, niece Yasmine, aunt Isabella, cousins Chris, Michele, Lisa, Paul, and their families. She was predeceased by her brother Robert. Her remains will be cremated, and a remembrance celebration will take place February 15.

DUNCAN, ALFRED RAYMOND of San Jose, CA passed away on April 5, 2014 at the age of 71. Although Alfred was born in New Orleans, his family moved to Chicago, Illinois while he was still a toddler. After the death of his mother, Ruth, he went to California to live with his aunt and uncle, Annabell and Ernest Marcell. Alfred always considered her as his second mother. After graduating from high school, he returned to Chicago. In 1977, while attending a wedding in San Francisco, he decided to relocate to the Bay Area.
The most important part of his “dash” began in 1984 when he met his BFF, Vicki. Their marriage in 1985 produced Michael, a son that made him extremely proud for 22 years. Also important in filling his “dash” were his nieces and nephews – he loved being “Uncle Al” to Karen and Will, Spenser, and Kayla; Gina and David, Jimara, and Dillon; Danny, LaToya, Nicole, Maurice, Marvin, Erika, Najee, Mikayla, Malik, Annesley, Noah, and Danny. His relationship with Christ began in his early teens, but the spiritual growth became most evident during his marriage. HELTON, JENNY “Madalon”, born September 2, 1934 to Louis and Mary Madalon, has gone to be with the Lord, July 13, 2018. Jenny’s sense of humor belied her incredible level of modesty and quiet nature. No joke, comment or inuendo was lost on her nor escaped without a priceless smile and a genuine laugh. She loved to laugh as much as anyone we’ve known. She devoted her life to her five children, her greatest blessings. Mark, Jonathan, Joel, Cimity, and Sirica filled her prayers, not just at night, every moment of every day. Right in the middle of that pack is our special brother, Joel. Without sacrificing an ounce of love for the rest of us, she committed her life to making his royal. Each of Mimi’s grandchildren (Sydney, Joe, Kelly, Colson, & Boden) are her priceless treasures. Selfless love, goodness, and devotion aren’t just descriptive words about our mom, she lived it her whole life. Everyone Mom touched came away feeling they were special and significant to her, because they were. Mom’s unending and unbending faith in “her Jesus” (as she put it) gave her incredible strength and courage to stay the course. Goodness is a light and Mom’s shone brighter than any. She rests in the arms of her “Lord and Savior.” Mom, we miss you terribly, but we know you’re at peace and enjoying your new home.

POPE, MARJORIE LEIGH, born January 27, 1926, went to her final rest on September 4, 2013. Marge died peacefully at home, the only place she wanted to be, surrounded by friends, family, and her lifelong companion, Cleda Decker. Marge wore many hats in her life; U.S. Navy officer, enthusiastic trout angler, special-needs adult educator, successful bowler in a local league, active traveler and constant learner.
Born to Orval DeLoss Pope and Myrtle Margaret (Thornton) Pope of Iola, Kansas, Marge attended college in Kansas attaining a Master’s degree in Education and that is where she met Cleda. One day Cleda was singing La Traviata with joy in a practice room when there was a knock on the door. Puzzled, Cleda answered to find Marge who asked, “Do you know what you’re singing?” Cleda had not realized that the song she was singing was a heroine dying of consumption but Marge set her straight. Thus began a decades-long friendship but Cleda says she hasn’t sung La Traviata the same way since. Marge joined the Navy but eventually separated and pursued teaching.
The latter part of her career was spent working with adults with special needs. Marge enjoyed an active retirement golfing, traveling, caring for aging family, and competing in a local bowling league. Many people were blessed by Marge’s penchant for letter writing which always brought her joy and kept many of us connected to her.
Sidelined by a hip fracture in March this year, Marge’s usual energy was redirected into recovering but she eventually succumbed to complications but was always very grateful for the support and visits by all her friends. Please join us for the Gathering of Friends at Marge and Cleda’s home on Saturday, September 7 from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
